Zambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS) says it is determined to retain girls that dropped out of school last year.

ZOCS Executive Director Harriet Sianjibu has told Byta FM News that Gamela School in Choma District lost 3 girls to early marriages and pregnancies in 2016.
Sianjibu hopes that taking the girls back to school would be an example to the community as it may be motivated to stop early marriages.

She explains that the girls will be taken back to school to have them educated stating that schools are the right places for young girls to be and not in marriages.
The ZOCS Director has since called on schools and parents to protect young girls from early pregnancies and marriages in order to develop the country.
